We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house therapy team! The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a skilled nursing setting, focusing on rehabilitation and recovery. This role involves working closely with patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans and support patients in achieving their mobility and functional goals. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Physical Therapist with patient evaluations and treatment planning.

  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist.

  • Provide therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities to improve patients’ mobility, strength, balance, and overall function.

  • Monitor and document patients’ progress, responses to treatment, and outcomes.

  • Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, and self-management strategies.

  • Assist patients with transfers, gait training, and functional activities as appropriate.

  • Collaborate with the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team to support comprehensive patient care and effective discharge planning.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.

  • Follow established safety protocols and infection control procedures.

  • Stay updated on best practices and advancements in physical therapy and rehabilitation.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

  • Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.

  • Strong understanding of physical therapy principles, therapeutic exercises, and rehabilitation techniques.

  • Experience in a skilled nursing setting is preferred but not required.

  • Experience working with geriatric populations is a plus.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.

  • Compassionate, patient-focused approach with a commitment to providing quality care.
