POSITION PURPOSE
NEXPERA's Maintenance Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment and facilities within a chemical manufacturing environment. This position supports maintenance planning, documentation, troubleshooting coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives to minimize downtime and uphold regulatory and safety standards.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to):
- Maintenance Planning — Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, ensuring alignment with production needs and regulatory requirements.
- Work Order Management — Create, track, and close work orders in the CMMS; verify accuracy of labor, materials, and equipment data.
- Technical Documentation — Maintain equipment files, SOPs, maintenance logs, and compliance records; ensure documentation meets OSHA, EPA, and internal audit standards.
- Inventory Coordination — Monitor spare parts levels, initiate purchase requests, and collaborate with procurement to maintain critical stock.
- Troubleshooting Support — Assist technicians and engineers by gathering data, reviewing equipment history, and coordinating vendor or OEM support.
- Safety & Compliance — Support safety programs, participate in incident investigations, and ensure maintenance activities follow PSM, MOC, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Continuous Improvement — Identify recurring issues, analyze maintenance KPIs, and recommend improvements to reliability and equipment performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
In order to be qualified for this role, the following is required:
- Education: Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Technology, or related field; or equivalent industrial experience.
- Experience: 3-5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Skills & Knowledge:
- Understanding of pumps, valves, instrumentation, rotating equipment, and utility systems.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams.
- Familiarity with OSHA, PSM, and chemical plant safety practices.
- Experience with systems such as SAP PM, Maximo, or similar
- Ability to analyze equipment issues and support effective solutions.
- Ensures accuracy in documentation and maintenance records.
- Works effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Prioritizes tasks in a fast‑paced production environment.

Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License required
- TWIC required (must be obtained within 30 days of beginning employment)
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to work for prolonged periods in extremes of hot and cold temperatures and inclement weather conditions.
- Ability to work around hazardous materials such as sulfuric acid and molten sulfur.
- Ability to wear required PPE (including FR clothing, respirators, and fall protection equipment).
- Frequent stooping, bending, climbing, reaching and carrying, use of hand tools (shovels, brooms, sledgehammers, picks) and moving heavy objects.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and high-lifts, and to enter and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to respond to emergency call-outs as required by site operations.
- Typical Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Occasional travel to other locations may be required.
