Location / Territory: Columbia, MO / Jefferson City & mid-Missouri
Compensation: $32–$44/hr ($67K–$91K annualized) + after-hours differential
About the Company
Midway Electric has served mid-Missouri for more than 25 years and is expanding its established electrical business into a broader home-services platform. Its HVAC operation provides heating and cooling repair, installation and maintenance alongside the company's electrical, plumbing and security services.
Role Summary
Midway is seeking a lead-level HVAC professional who can serve as a licensed point of accountability while strengthening the company's growing HVAC operation. The ideal candidate combines advanced diagnostics with strong installation and ductwork experience and can mentor developing technicians.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as licensed point of accountability on permitted HVAC work.
- Diagnose complex residential and light-commercial HVAC systems.
- Lead HVAC installation projects.
- Perform and oversee ductwork-related work.
- Troubleshoot furnaces, AC systems, heat pumps and controls.
- Support service work when required.
- Lead and mentor HVAC technicians.
- Maintain code and safety compliance.
- Communicate effectively with residential and commercial customers.
- Participate in rotating on-call coverage.
- Support seasonal overtime requirements.
- Help Midway develop more specialized service/install capabilities as headcount grows.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of HVAC experience.
- Master Mechanical HVACR / Type A license or eligibility.
- EPA 608 Universal certification.
- Advanced independent diagnostic skills.
- Experience with residential and commercial/light-commercial HVAC.
- Leadership/mentoring experience.
- Clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong HVAC installation background.
- Ductwork experience.
- Experience leading install crews.
- Rooftop-unit/light-commercial experience.
- Field-service software experience.
