By 7:30, you’re in the field—diagnosing a generator fault, bringing an industrial HVAC system back online, and making a construction crew’s day run smoother. That’s a typical morning for our Mobile Power & HVAC Service Mechanic at our Advanced Solutions rental facility in Catlett, VA.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, overtime after 40 hours. This role may include on-call rotation with additional compensation.

What You’ll Do
  • Leverage laptops/tablets and our T3 platform to create, assign, and track work orders, service intervals, and parts.
  • Diagnose issues faster by pulling data across hundreds of makes and models; pinpoint root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, commercial HVAC systems, and oil-free air compressors.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures both in-shop and on-site; complete repairs to restore uptime safely and efficiently.
  • Independently or alongside other technicians, set up and operate equipment for customers and internal needs.
  • Document all work thoroughly and on time each day in electronic work orders.
  • Share knowledge by assisting in training junior technicians; model safety-first habits every step of the way.
  • Support with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
  • Apply OSHA knowledge and best practices (preferred).
  • Participate in year-round, company-provided OEM training.
  • Pitch in on other duties as assigned.

About You

Required Skills & Abilities
  • Own tools applicable to the position
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and strong tool knowledge
  • Hands-on experience maintaining/repairing power generators and/or commercial HVAC equipment
  • Ability to calculate nominal/effective tonnage and/or kW requirements; read and interpret schematics
  • Outstanding customer service, teamwork, and written/verbal communication
  • EPA 608 certification preferred—or ability to obtain within 6–12 months
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma required; trade school certificate preferred
  • Field service, maintenance, and repair experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable record; must be at least 21 to operate a company vehicle
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to move, stand, stoop, and bend freely
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • May be required to be clean shaven to access certain customer worksites
