Packaging Technician II
Job Description
Job Title: Packaging Technician Location: Athens, GA Type: Temp - 3-month duration Compensation: $18.01 - $19.28 an hour Work Model: Onsite – onsite Hours: Monday - Friday 2:30 pm to 11 pm
Packaging Technician Responsibilities:
- Operate packaging equipment (e.g., labelers, pick and place, heat tunnel, vision systems, forklift, etc.)
- Inspect product accurately and efficiently to meet quality guidelines
- Perform equipment change-over and set-up
- Conduct initial troubleshooting for packaging equipment issues (e.g., Labelers, Pick and place, heat tunnel, etc.)
- Ensure that proper cGMP documentation is followed for completeness and adherence to procedures in a timely manner
- Read, understand, and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures
- Prepare QA Line clearances (e.g., Small volume line)
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Maintain facilities and equipment as required by Standard Operating Procedures
- Engage in cross-training within the department to meet business needs
- Communicate processing needs to co-workers
- Report progress several times daily to the shift line leader and/or Supervisor
- Report process events or issues immediately to shift line leader and/or Supervisor (escalation process)
- Communicate facility and inventory needs daily
- Monitor processes against manufacturing records, data capture forms, and SOPs
- Participate in Daily Performance Review (Team)
- Complete batch tickets with materials consumed during execution
- Provide feedback regarding feasibility of proposed improvements
- Follow defined process sequences
Requirements
- HS diploma; Associate's preferred or equivalent experience
- 2 to 3 years manufacturing experience
- Detail-oriented with effective communication skills and quality conscience
- Equipment/Process troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift to 35 lbs
- Basic math and computer skills
- Preferred: 5+ years of related experience; Forklift certified
