Location: Addison, IL
Type: Direct Hire
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
Pay: $25–$36/hr + 10% shift differential
- Read and act on blueprints/drawings, work orders, and GD&T (ANSI) to machine precisely?
- Configure fixtures and tooling for medium-to-complex setups on horizontal machining centers with pallet systems?
- Leverage rotary/indexing and 4- and 5-axis capabilities to maximize throughput and quality?
- Tune machine controls for feeds/speeds, save updated programs, and maintain accurate documentation and photos?
- Perform minor PM, keep a tidy workspace, and adhere to OSHA-compliant safe practices?
- Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, height gages, bore gages, inter-mics, thread gages, pin gages, comparators, and other approved tools?
- Deburr to spec, clock operations by work-order sequence, and hit daily/weekly department goals?
- Share knowledge, guide junior machinists, and work cross-functionally in a professional manner?
- Support Lean/Continuous Improvement projects and sustain 5S?
- Operate within ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 quality requirements?
- High school diploma (or equivalent).
- 4+ years in a production or job shop machining environment.
- Proficiency with G-code and common machining practices.
- Strong HMC experience; palletized systems knowledge.
- Four-/five-axis machining expertise; Mazak familiarity is a plus.
- Ability to follow verbal/written directions and work from hand sketches.
- Comfort with scheduling/shop control platforms (Epicor or similar) is a plus.
- Effective communicator and collaborative team player.
Preferred: Journeyman status or completion of a four-year apprenticeship.
Physical requirements- Near vision for gauges, prints, and precision instruments.
- Auditory ability to monitor machine sounds and act on changes.
- Frequent standing/walking/pushing/overhead reaching/floor bending.
- Frequent sitting and fine motor control for tools/controls.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Elevated noise from running equipment.
- Movement hazards from machinery and components.
- Fumes, dust, and mist may be present.
- Contact with oils and cutting fluids.
