Laser CNC Operator

Location: Devens, MA

Pay: $30-$40/hr

Schedule: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Laser CNC Operator to join our Marking Department. This position will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC laser equipment, making machine adjustments, and ensuring finished parts meet quality and dimensional requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC laser equipment.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances.

  • Make machine setting and program adjustments as needed.

  • Understand and utilize G-code and basic CNC programming.

  • Manipulate, scale, convert, and modify programs using mathematical formulas.

  • Understand feed rates, power parameters, and material properties.

  • Use basic fixturing including vices, V-blocks, and rotary fixtures.

  • Inspect parts using measuring devices and microscope/light-source inspection.

  • Maintain dimensional accuracy and consistent quality throughout production.

  • Follow written and visual instructions while maintaining strong attention to detail.

  • Manage job flow and production timelines effectively.

Must-Have Qualifications
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC laser machines.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and geometric tolerances.

  • Understanding of vector manipulation and drawing/design software.

  • Familiarity with machine setup and G-code programming.

  • Strong attention to detail and quality.

  • ITAR compliant – must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.

Preferred Experience
  • AutoCAD, AlphaCAM, SolidWorks, CorelDRAW, or Adobe Illustrator.

  • Experience with AS400 and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience working with manufacturing software and tools.

  • Experience using precision measuring equipment.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and regularly use hands for handling and operating equipment.

  • Occasionally stand, walk, reach, and lift/move materials up to 10 pounds.

  • Ability to perform close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception tasks.

  • Work environment may occasionally involve fumes or airborne particles.
