Fabrication Specialist & Machinist

Pay: $35.00 - $37.00/hour DOE + Robust Benefits Package

Location: Windsor, CO

Shift: Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

How you'll spend your time as a Fabrication Specialist & Machinist

  • Design, fabricate, repair, and modify custom machine parts, tooling, fixtures, guards, brackets, and manufacturing equipment that keep production running.
  • Operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, saws, welding equipment, and other machine shop tools.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and develop practical machining and fabrication solutions that improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Reverse engineer worn or damaged parts when drawings or specifications are unavailable.
  • Work closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to solve manufacturing challenges and improve equipment performance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, samples, and verbal instructions to manufacture custom components.
  • Select appropriate materials, machining methods, tooling, and tolerances for custom fabrication and repair projects.
  • Support equipment installations, modifications, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain machine shop tooling, spare parts inventory, and required documentation in compliance with FDA, cGMP, and company standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe machine shop environment while following all safety procedures.

Skills & experience we'd like you to have as a Fabrication Specialist & Machinist

  • 6+ years of experience in manual machining, fabrication, maintenance machining, toolmaking, equipment repair, or a related industrial trade.
  • Extensive experience operating manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, saws, and related machine shop equipment.
  • Strong fabrication skills with the ability to build, repair, modify, and rebuild custom machine components.
  • Experience reverse engineering worn or damaged parts when drawings or specifications are unavailable.
  • Proficiency with TIG, MIG, and stick welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and mechanical documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to independently troubleshoot equipment and develop practical machining and fabrication solutions.
  • Experience working with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production teams to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, and related inspection equipment.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an active manufacturing environment.

Preferred

  • Trade school, apprenticeship, or vocational training in machining, fabrication, welding, or toolmaking.
  • Experience designing or modifying tooling, fixtures, guards, or custom machine components.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering operations in pharmaceutical, medical device, aerospace, food manufacturing, or other regulated environments.
