Job Description

Job Description
Your Day

You arrive, pull the traveler, and study a blueprint packed with GD&T callouts. You choose tooling, load material, and bring an Okuma CNC lathe online, navigating confidently across both Fanuc and Okuma controls. Indicators out, offsets set—you verify critical features using hand gauges, an optical comparator, and, when required, a CMM check. A first-article run proves out; you spot a minor optimization, make a simple program edit in G/M code, and let production roll. Later, you pivot to a complex setup following work instructions, changing over efficiently and working with limited supervision to keep quality and throughput on target.

What You’ll Handle
  • Set up and operate standard CNC lathes (Okuma platform; Fanuc and Okuma controls).
  • Interpret blueprints with GD&T and translate them into precise setups and part checks.
  • Use measuring equipment from hand tools to an optical comparator and CMM.
  • Read and understand G-code and M-code; perform simple program edits as needed.
  • Own complex job setups using work instructions or guides while working under limited supervision.
