Elementary School Occupational Therapist - Socorro, New Mexico

This full-time role welcomes both Occupational Therapists (OTs) and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) who are passionate about supporting student development in a school-based environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
• Previous experience in an elementary school setting highly preferred
• Strong understanding of school-based OT protocols and interventions
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, administrators, and families
• Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet diverse student needs
• Meets all regulatory requirements for providing school-based services

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver school-based occupational therapy services to elementary students in group and individual settings
• Conduct assessments and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to create strategies that support student learning and success
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting in compliance with school and legal requirements
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed to achieve IEP goals
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and multidisciplinary team sessions
