Step into a rewarding role supporting high school students’ growth and learning as a contract Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year. Starting September 1, you will join a supportive environment working with a group of 17 students in a high school setting. Your focus will be on delivering individualized reading instruction to students who require it, empowering them to achieve their goals. With the support of another dedicated educator handling math instruction, you’ll collaborate to address students’ unique needs and celebrate their achievements.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with secondary-level students with diverse learning needs
• Strong knowledge of IEP development and case management practices
• Flexibility to adapt instruction and supports based on student needs
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

• Deliver reading instruction and minutes to high school students as identified in their IEPs
• Act as case manager for 8 students, overseeing progress and facilitating services
• Collaborate closely with a teaching partner responsible for math, ensuring comprehensive support for all students
• Implement executive functioning supports for students with those goals in their IEPs
• Maintain organized documentation and timely communication with families and staff
• Contribute to a classroom culture that values respect, growth, and positive interpersonal relationships
