Key Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapist license in the state of Florida
- Previous experience in a school environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of pediatric occupational therapy practices
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with teachers, parents, and staff
- Flexibility to adapt to varying caseloads and school schedules
- Organizational abilities to efficiently document progress and maintain records
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations to assess students’ fine motor, sensory, and functional abilities
- Develop targeted intervention plans tailored to each child’s educational needs
- Deliver direct and consultative therapies in individual or small group settings
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, and parents to support students’ goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, contributing expertise and recommendations
- Educate school staff on strategies for classroom adaptations and modifications
