Job Description

Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with high school students in an educational setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to tailor instructional approaches for students with varying learning needs
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing targeted reading instruction to students as indicated in their IEPs (not all students require these minutes)
- Collaborating with a fellow high school special education teacher, who focuses on math, to ensure comprehensive support for the student group
- Acting as case manager for 8 students, overseeing progress, documentation, and coordination with related service providers
- Delivering executive functioning minutes as needed, based on individual IEP requirements
- Creating an inclusive and supportive classroom culture, with minimal behavioral challenges
- Maintaining regular school hours from 7:55 am to 3:15 pm
