Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid MA Special Education teaching license (Moderate Disabilities 5-8)
- Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement required
- Experience teaching and supporting students with language-based disabilities in an inclusive setting
- Familiarity with the Wilson Reading Program preferred
- Previous experience with IEP implementation and direct instruction
- Reading Specialist certification is a plus, but not mandatory
- Comfortable with planning and co-planning instructional strategies
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide reading instruction and interventions for students with language-based disabilities in grades 5-8
- Deliver IEP services within inclusive classrooms and small-group settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to design and implement effective lesson plans
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Foster a supportive, motivating classroom climate where all learners can thrive
- Utilize evidence-based reading programs and instructional techniques
