Job Description

Job Title: Lead Bartender & Pie Host (The Ultimate Hospitality Hybrid)

Job Type: Part-Time (15–25 hours/week, primarily evenings and weekends)

Pay: Base hourly rate + tips (Average take-home: $38.00 – $60.00+ per hour depending on volume and events)

Location: On-site

About the Role

We are looking for an energetic, warm-hearted, and detail-oriented Lead Bartender & Pie Host who genuinely loves hospitality, craft drinks, and making people feel right at home.

This isn't a typical turn-and-burn bar shift—think of it as hosting a lively, high-energy dinner party where every guest leaves full of incredible pie and great drinks. One minute you’re shaking up a signature craft cocktail or pouring a local draft, and the next you’re stepping over to the pie station to cut clean, uniform slices of pre-baked artisan pies, dressing them up with fresh toppings, and handing over a gorgeous plate. If you love multitasking, have steady hands, and know how to command a room with infectious warmth, you will thrive here.

What You’ll Do

Pie Slicing, Dressing & Presentation

Precision Slicing: Slice into pre-baked flaky fruit crumbles, layered cream pies, and savory pot pies with clean, uniform geometry so every cut looks pristine.

Plating & Dressing: Dress each slice to perfection—topping with house whipped creams, dessert drizzles, crumbles, or savory garnishes before serving.

Menu Knowledge & Pairings: Guide guests through the menu with enthusiasm, suggesting cocktail-and-pie pairings (like a rich bourbon cocktail alongside a warm berry crumble or a crisp cider with a savory pot pie).

Case & Station Care: Keep the pie display case looking full, fresh, and inviting. Monitor warming temperatures for savory items and keep cutting boards, pie knives, and garnishing stations spotless.

Craft Bartending & Beverage Service

Cocktail Execution: Build, shake, stir, and garnish signature house cocktails, classic favorites, and zero-proof mocktails with speed, balance, and consistency.

Bar Prep & Upkeep: Batch house-made syrups, prep fresh fruit garnishes, change kegs, restock spirits, and ensure ice wells are always clean and full.

Responsible Beverage Service: Check IDs diligently, adhere strictly to state liquor laws, monitor guest consumption with care, and keep the environment safe and welcoming.

Hosting & Room Flow

Run the Room: Welcome guests the second they walk in, set the musical vibe, and keep the energy elevated from open to close.

High-Volume Multitasking: Juggle drink tickets, pie orders, and takeout boxes seamlessly without losing your cool during busy peak rushes.

POS & Operations: Ring orders accurately into the Point-of-Sale system, split checks smoothly, manage open tabs, and close out a balanced drawer at the end of the night.

Cleanliness Standards: Maintain a sparkling clean bar top, service counter, and dining area. Execute opening and closing cleaning checklists with pride.

What We’re Looking For

Bartending Background: 1–2 years behind a fast-paced craft bar or high-volume restaurant service well.

Steady Hands & Visual Pride: Experience with clean knife handling and an eye for presentation. Commercial bakery or kitchen prep experience is a welcome bonus, but a sharp eye for dressing a plate is what matters most.

Hospitality Instincts: High emotional intelligence, natural charisma, and a passion for treating guests like old friends.

Required Certifications: Valid State Mandatory Alcohol Server Training (MAST / ServSafe equivalent) and Food Worker Card prior to starting.

Schedule Availability: Solid weekend availability (Friday evenings, Saturday nights, Sunday shifts, plus high-traffic holidays and private events).

What We Offer

High Earning Potential: Strong check averages driven by premium cocktail and pie pairings, resulting in steady, generous tips.

Food & Drink Perks: Generous employee discounts on food, whole pies, drinks, and merchandise.

Creative Freedom: Opportunities to contribute ideas for seasonal cocktail specials and new dessert garnishes.

A Real Team Culture: A supportive, direct, and collaborative environment where your hard work and personality are valued.
