Process Technician — Shop Floor Responsibilities (Simplified)
Who You Report To
- Quality Assurance (QA) Manager
Main Goal of the Job
Keep all processing tanks and lab testing running correctly and within specification so production parts meet quality requirements.
Daily Responsibilities
1. Check Process Tanks
- Perform titration tests three times per day on all production lines (red, blue, and green).
- Drain and reset testing equipment before each test.
- Use DI water when required for testing.
- Remove air bubbles before testing samples.
- Record results immediately.
2. Monitor Chemical Levels
- Compare results to required ranges.
- Create chemical addition sheets when adjustments are needed.
- Re-test tanks if results look incorrect.
- Notify QA Manager and Plant Manager if a tank cannot be corrected.
3. Recordkeeping & Data Entry
- Enter all titration results into the computer.
- Help maintain monthly graphs for each tank.
- Enter rework/rejection data into the system.
- Keep lab paperwork organized and up to date.
4. Quality & Lab Support
- Test production solutions as required.
- Assist with coating weight testing.
- Inspect parts when needed or when the lab inspector is absent.
- Test wastewater daily as required.
5. Lab & Equipment Maintenance
- Help order lab chemicals and supplies.
- Maintain calibration records monthly.
- Keep testing procedures current when updates are needed.
6. General Duties
- Complete special assignments from QA Manager.
- Work Saturdays when re
- Keep the lab and work area clean at the end of the day.
Work Expectations
- Follow all Parker safety and conduct rules.
- Work accurately and honestly with test data.
- Report problems immediately.
- Maintain organized paperwork and records.
