On-Site Coordinator – Construction Project
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 Per Hour Depending on Experience
Position Summary
The On-Site Construction Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of a construction project by coordinating personnel, schedules, documentation, site activities, and communication between field employees, project management, subcontractors, and the client. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily activities for employees and crews working on the construction project.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact between field employees, the staffing company, project management, and the client.
- Monitor employee attendance, schedules, timekeeping, and daily assignments.
- Conduct daily check-ins with employees and address attendance, performance, and scheduling issues.
- Assist with employee orientation, site access, badging, safety requirements, and required training.
- Ensure employees have the proper PPE, tools, equipment, and documentation required for their assignments.
- Maintain accurate daily manpower reports, time sheets, attendance records, and project documentation.
- Communicate staffing needs, schedule changes, overtime requirements, and manpower issues to management.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and foremen regarding employee assignments and work requirements.
- Help resolve employee and job-site issues quickly and professionally.
- Monitor compliance with company and project safety policies.
- Report safety concerns, incidents, injuries, and employee disciplinary issues to management immediately.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees assigned to the project.
- Track employee certifications, training, licenses, and other required qualifications.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and company information.
- Provide daily or weekly status reports to management as required.
- Perform other duties related to the successful operation of the construction project.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in construction, staffing, field coordination, project administration, or a related field preferred.
- Construction site experience strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, contractors, and clients.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, email, spreadsheets, and electronic timekeeping systems.
- Ability to read and understand basic construction terminology and documentation.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
- Must be able to pass any client-required background check, drug screening, or site-access requirements.
Work Environment
- Primarily an on-site construction environment.
- May require walking construction sites, climbing stairs, and working around construction equipment, noise, dust, and changing weather conditions.
- Must be willing to work the project schedule, including occasional overtime, weekends, or extended hours when required.
- Proper PPE must be worn while on active construction sites.
