Carpenter

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our growing residential construction team. This is a hands-on role for a skilled craftsman who takes pride in producing high-quality work across a variety of projects, including custom decks, home additions, renovations, and exterior improvements. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a crew while maintaining high standards of craftsmanship, safety, and professionalism.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Perform all phases of residential carpentry, including framing, finish carpentry, siding, decking, and general construction.
• Build custom wood and composite decks, stairs, railings, pergolas, and other outdoor structures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and project specifications.
• Measure, cut, and install materials accurately while maintaining quality craftsmanship.
• Install windows, doors, trim, cabinetry, flooring, and other finish carpentry components as needed.
• Work alongside foremen and project managers to complete projects on schedule and according to company standards.
• Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site while following OSHA and company safety requirements.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, subcontractors, and homeowners in a professional manner.
• Identify potential issues in the field and recommend practical solutions.
• Assist with material loading, unloading, and organization to keep projects running efficiently.
• Mentor apprentices or less experienced carpenters when appropriate.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of residential carpentry experience required.
• Strong knowledge of framing, finish carpentry, remodeling, and residential construction methods.
• Experience building wood and composite (Trex or similar) decks strongly preferred.
• Ability to read construction drawings and work from plans with minimal supervision.
• Proficient with common carpentry tools, power tools, and equipment.
• Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and best construction practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license required.
• OSHA 10 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dependable attendance are essential.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
• Be prepared to provide references.
