Job Description
Position Overview:
As a Journeyman Carpenter, you will be responsible for performing a variety of carpentry tasks on construction projects, including framing, trim work, cabinetry, and other wood-related tasks. You will work closely with other team members to ensure the successful completion of projects while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall to precise specifications
- Construct, install, and repair structures such as frameworks, partitions, stairways, and rafters
- Build and install cabinets, shelving, doors, and other fixtures
- Ensure all work is completed according to local building codes and safety regulations
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications
- Collaborate with other trades to ensure smooth project flow
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations on job sites
- Provide mentorship and guidance to apprentices and junior carpenters, as needed
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Carpenter (minimum of 3 years of experience)
- Valid driver's License and reliable transportation
- Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and building codes
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
