About the RoleWe are seeking motivated CNC 3-Axis Mill Operators to join a growing precision manufacturing team in Poway, CA. In this role, you will set up, operate, and monitor CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines to manufacture complex, high-precision parts used in industries such as semiconductor, aerospace, medical device, electronics, energy, and industrial manufacturing. Key Responsibilities- Operate CNC 3-axis milling machines to produce high-quality components that meet engineering specifications.
- Perform machine setup activities including tooling selection, fixture installation, program loading, and tool offset adjustments.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished parts while ensuring proper fixture alignment and clamping.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, setup sheets, travelers, and work instructions.
- Monitor machine performance, tooling wear, and part dimensions to maintain quality and minimize scrap.
- Perform in-process inspections, first article inspections, visual inspections, and quality checks using precision measuring instruments.
- Utilize micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, indicators, and height gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make minor machine offset adjustments to maintain tolerances.
- Complete production documentation, inspection records, and daily logs accurately.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment while following OSHA and PPE requirements.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to achieve production goals.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and cross-training opportunities across multiple workstations.
- 0-2 years of machining experience or completion of a CNC machining trade school/program.
- Ability to read blueprints and use measuring equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn CNC machining processes.
- 2-4 years of CNC milling experience.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC 3-axis milling machines.
- Ability to make tooling adjustments, offsets, and basic troubleshooting corrections.
- Understanding of machining fundamentals, tooling, feeds, speeds, and machine setup practices.
- Experience with CNC programming software, AutoCAD, NCCam, or similar systems.
- Experience in precision manufacturing, cleanroom, or controlled production environments.
- Knowledge of G-code, M-code, and work coordinate systems (G54-G59).
- Experience with first article inspections and quality documentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining, tooling, or production issues independently.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
