Job Title: 1st and 2nd shift Forklift Operator

Job Description

This role involves safely operating heavy machinery to move product loads throughout a production facility. You will pick and stage orders, operate various types of forklifts, and support shipping and receiving activities to ensure efficient and accurate movement of goods.

Responsibilities

  • Operate sit-down and reach forklifts to safely move product loads around the facility.
  • Pick and stage orders accurately for the next day’s shipments.
  • Handle shipping and receiving functions, including loading, unloading, and organizing incoming and outgoing products.
  • Use reach trucks and reach lifts to access and move products stored at various heights.
  • Follow established production, quality, and safety procedures while handling materials.
  • Support the effective manufacture and distribution of goods by moving raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products as needed.
  • Inspect forklifts and related equipment before use and report any issues or safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in the production environment.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to safely operate reach forklifts.
  • Proven ability to safely operate sit-down forklifts.
  • Experience using reach trucks and reach lifts in a production or warehouse setting.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control methods.
  • Understanding of techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Ability to perform shipping and receiving job functions, including loading and unloading products.
  • Attention to detail when picking and staging orders.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures in a non-temperature-controlled production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience operating turret trucks is a plus.
  • Prior experience working with consumer packaged goods or similar products is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with production-side operations within a manufacturing or distribution facility.

Work Environment

You work on the production side of a building that handles mouthwash products under the Thera Breath brand. The environment is not temperature-controlled, so conditions may vary with the seasons. You will regularly operate forklifts and material-handling equipment in a busy production setting, coordinating closely with shipping, receiving, and manufacturing teams.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fontana, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
