The Electrical Assembler role focuses on assembling and wiring low-voltage LED lighting systems and related electrical components in a manufacturing environment. You will work with hand tools and electrical measuring devices, follow electrical drawings and assembly instructions, and ensure that all assemblies meet quality and safety standards. This position is ideal for someone with a basic understanding of electrical wiring principles who enjoys hands-on work and is eager to learn and grow in electrical assembly.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble and wire low-voltage LED lighting systems and related components according to drawings and work instructions.
  • Make splice connections and jump LED lighting strands as required to complete lighting assemblies.
  • Assist with wiring power supplies into transformers and control boxes.
  • Perform basic primary and low-voltage wiring tasks while following wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and assembly drawings.
  • Apply knowledge of 12V and 24V power supply applications and understand their differences in use.
  • Follow UL requirements and electrical standards using provided documentation and guidance.
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality, accuracy, and proper function before release.
  • Troubleshoot and correct basic wiring issues in assembled units.
  • Use electrical hand tools and measuring devices safely and correctly, including wire strippers, crimpers, pliers, cable cutters, voltage testers, and multimeters.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in accordance with facility safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with team members and follow supervisor instructions to meet production goals and deadlines.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in assembly, manufacturing, or electrical assembly.
  • Basic understanding of low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with LED lighting products and components.
  • Ability to perform wiring for low-voltage systems and basic primary circuits.
  • Ability to use electrical hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, pliers, cable cutters, and basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to use electrical measuring devices including voltage testers and multimeters.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and detailed work instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of 12V and 24V power supplies and their applications.
  • Willingness to learn UL requirements and industry electrical standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment and maintain an organized workspace.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in electronic assembly or related electrical assembly work.
  • Comfort working with low-voltage power supply systems and LED lighting assemblies.
  • Ability to interpret and apply information from assembly drawings and technical documentation.
  • Interest in ongoing training and skills development in electrical and electronic assembly.
  • Reliability and flexibility to support overtime needs when required.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility that is non–climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with potential overtime on Saturdays and a need to be available from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM as required. You will work on the production floor using a range of electrical hand tools, measuring devices, and basic hand and power tools, following established safety procedures and production processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
