Job Description

This entry-level Clean Room Associate position offers the opportunity to work in a highly regulated pharmaceutical clean room environment, supporting the production of capsules used in over-the-counter medicines, prescription drugs, and nutritional supplements. You will rotate through key production areas, learn foundational tasks in each department, and help ensure products meet strict quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a clean room pharmaceutical manufacturing environment following all gowning, cleanliness, and safety protocols.
  • Follow detailed work instructions to perform tasks accurately and consistently across different production areas.
  • Support the Medicine department by cleaning medicine tanks and preparing equipment for mixing powders and water to create liquid medicine.
  • Support the Gelatin department by cleaning gelatin tanks and preparing equipment for mixing chemicals, powders, and water to create gelatin.
  • Assist in the Encapsulation area by spreading capsules and supporting the process that places medicine inside gelatin capsules.
  • Work in Post Production to perform tray-by-tray inspection of capsules and clean shallow capsule trays to maintain product quality.
  • Conduct visual inspection of products to identify defects and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail while working on repetitive tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Adhere to all production schedules, shift requirements, and workflow instructions provided by department management.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and support continuous improvement.
  • Comply with all safety, cleanliness, and regulatory requirements associated with pharmaceutical manufacturing.

  • Willingness to learn new processes and adapt to different areas of production.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior clean room experience is a plus.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical production or similar regulated environments is beneficial.
  • Experience in production line work, warehouse pick/pack, machine operation, kitting, assembly, or inspection is advantageous.
  • Comfort working 12-hour shifts on rotating day or night schedules.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a large manufacturing team.

Work Environment

This role is based in a clean room pharmaceutical manufacturing facility that uses a top-down gowning process, requiring specialized attire and adherence to strict cleanliness protocols. You will work in a large site with hundreds of employees, moving between areas such as medicine mixing, gelatin preparation, encapsulation, and post-production. The facility operates two 12-hour shifts: day shift from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm and night shift from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, with a rotating schedule where one week includes Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, and the following week includes Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Each shift includes two 30-minute breaks, with break times determined by department management based on workflow. The environment is fast-paced and structured, with production lines, inspection stations, and equipment used for mixing, assembly, kitting, machine operation, and tray-by-tray inspection of capsules, all within a controlled clean room setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of High Point, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.25 - $17.25/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
