Job Title: Aerospace Assembler
Job Description
This assembler position supports a leading aerospace manufacturer that designs, builds, and produces complex structures, systems, and components for commercial, business, regional, and military aircraft. In this role, you perform pre-assembly operations such as drilling and deburring, assemble component parts using a variety of fasteners and bonding methods, and work from aerospace blueprints and schematics. The team provides training on specialized aerospace assembly techniques, making this an excellent opportunity for mechanically inclined individuals with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn.
Shift: 3:30PM - 11:30PM
Pay: $23/hr
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-assembly operations including drilling and deburring sheet metal parts to prepare them for final assembly.
- Assemble component parts by installing ground studs, attaching nut plates, and bonding parts as required.
- Use hand and pneumatic tools, including drills and basic power tools, to complete assembly tasks safely and accurately.
- Carry out riveting and countersinking operations, including squeeze riveting, in accordance with aerospace specifications.
- Work from aerospace blueprints, schematics, and detailed work instructions to ensure correct assembly and alignment of parts.
- Measure components using tools such as micrometers, calipers, shim gauges, and height gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Follow production assembly procedures to meet quality, safety, and throughput requirements in a fast-paced environment.
- Handle sheet metal parts and steel components with care, maintaining accuracy and minimizing defects during assembly.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to clarify instructions, ask questions, and resolve issues.
- Maintain a positive attitude, demonstrate eagerness to learn, and actively engage in training on aerospace assembly techniques.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper use of tools and personal protective equipment, in a manufacturing shop environment.
- Read, understand, and follow written work instructions and documentation in English throughout the assembly process.
Essential Skills
- 1–2 years of assembly experience with sheet metal components or closely related mechanical work.
- Ability to perform riveting and countersinking operations on sheet metal parts.
- Experience using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed work instructions.
- Prior experience working hands-on with hand tools and power tools in a mechanical or production environment.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with production goals.
- Mechanical aptitude, including experience working on cars, robotics, shop class projects, or similar hands-on activities.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English to understand instructions and communicate with the team.
- Effective communication skills and willingness to ask questions and stay engaged.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and motivation to learn new skills.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work with sheet metal and steel components.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior aerospace assembly experience is highly desirable.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication or production assembly in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with squeezing operations and squeeze riveting on aerospace or metal parts.
- Experience using additional measuring tools such as shim gauges and height gauges, including where and how they were used.
- Experience in composite assembly from companies in aerospace or related industries is beneficial.
- Prior exposure to robotics, shop class, or home mechanical projects that demonstrate strong mechanical inclination.
- Strong time management skills and ability to maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain a professional, cooperative attitude and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Willingness to complete a 90-day temp-to-hire period with the goal of transitioning to a direct role.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Auburn, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
