Job Title: Material Handler ($22-$25/hr)
Job Description
The Material Handler plays a key role in supporting distribution operations by safely moving, loading, and unloading materials in a warehouse environment. This position ensures all activities align with internal quality standards while following detailed work orders and instructions to handle container loads and materials accurately and efficiently.
Shifts
$22/hr: 1st shift | Monday - Thursday 6am - 4:30pm
$23.50/hr: 2nd shift | Monday - Thursday 9am - 7:30pm
$25/hr: WKAM shift | Friday - Sunday 5:30am - 6pm plus
Responsibilities
- Operate material handling equipment, including pallet jacks, rider jacks, standup trucks, order pickers, turret trucks, and reach trucks.
- Perform distribution and material handling activities in strict accordance with internal quality standards while maintaining a safe work environment.
- Read and follow work orders and instructions to determine materials or container loads that need to be moved.
- Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves using hand methods, forklifts, or other warehouse equipment.
- Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
- Count, weigh, and record the number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheets.
- Accurately complete basic checklists, forms, and related documentation to track material movement and inventory.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts, with strong proficiency and comfort in sit-down forklift operation.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and complete basic checklists, forms, and other related documents.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities effectively.
- Strong reliability, with a track record of being consistently at work and on time.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Comfort operating various material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, rider jacks, standup trucks, order pickers, turret trucks, reach trucks, and high-capacity forklifts after training.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Jefferson, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
