Job Title: Traveling Welder - $120 per diem for 7 days (could maybe get bumped to $150)

Job Description

Join our team as a Welder, where you will utilize your expertise in MIG and TIG welding to construct frames for packaging equipment. You will work from prints and engage in both custom and production projects, primarily involving stainless and mild steel.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG and TIG welding on frames for packaging equipment.
• Work off prints to complete custom and production type projects.
• Weld primarily with stainless steel (65%) on small piece parts and engage in secondary form welding.
• Put together pieces by making your own jig for 90% of the work.
• Conduct MIG welding on cold rolled steel (90%) with wire feed welding.
• Weld 1 by 3 and half by 6 dimensions, ranging from 40 inches to 120 inches long.
• Occasionally weld tubes as part of the duties.
• Handle heavy lifting and perform all welding work freehand.
• Join 20-60 joints together daily, with projects taking 2-3 days to complete a frame.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
• Experience in welding stainless and mild steel.
• Ability to work from prints and handle custom and production projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• General welding experience is preferred.

Work Environment

The work environment involves handling stainless and mild steel, with an emphasis on freehand welding. The role requires physical strength for heavier lifting and involves repetitive tasks with a focus on precision and efficiency.

This is a Permanent position based out of Alexandria, MN.

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $60000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
