The Paint Process Technician supports the operation, maintenance, and optimization of the plant’s powder coat line, pretreatment systems, and wastewater processes. This role focuses on monitoring and troubleshooting automated powder coating equipment and related mechanical and hydraulic systems to ensure consistent quality, efficiency, and safe operation.

Responsibilities
  • Support the daily operation, maintenance, and optimization of the plant’s powder coat line.
  • Monitor automated powder coating systems to ensure proper performance and consistent product quality.
  • Operate and oversee pretreatment processes to prepare parts and materials for powder coating.
  • Support and monitor wastewater processes associated with the powder coating and pretreatment systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic systems to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Diagnose and repair issues involving pumps and related components within the coating and pretreatment systems.
  • Perform mechanical adjustments and minor repairs on equipment to maintain reliable operation.
  • Follow established procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain a safe and compliant production environment.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Document issues, adjustments, and maintenance activities to support continuous improvement of the paint process.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Experience working with pumps in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to monitor and operate automated powder coating systems.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems and their basic operation.
  • Experience supporting pretreatment processes and wastewater systems related to coating operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for identifying root causes of equipment and process problems.
  • Understanding of and ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Ability to work in a production environment and support continuous operation of paint processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in assembly or production support within a manufacturing environment.
  • Background in maintaining or optimizing automated industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with process improvement concepts in paint or coating operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with production and maintenance teams.
  • Attention to detail when monitoring equipment performance and product quality.

Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $68224.00 - $68224.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
