Job Description
A QA Technician is the final eye for FHE, making sure that the product meets all FHE’s procedural expectations before shipping products/equipment to the customer.
Shared Job Description/Expectations:
• Maintain work area to be clean, organized, and safe following 5S standards.
• Must attend work as established by employer without excessive absenteeism.
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner that represents a positive image of FHE.
• Manage inventory (Admin).
• Prioritize job orders.
• Complete quality control documents, enter correct data into computer, upload pertinent info into Core (Admin).
• Validate all info from all departments and compare to customer sales order for accuracy (Admin).
• Learn the different types of equipment and products used at FHE and the purpose they serve.
• Learn measurements, how to weigh equipment, how to stencil.
• Represent FHE by greeting customers in a professional manner.
• Accurately complete and submit all necessary paperwork in a timely fashion.
• Look for errors on serial numbers, paint colors, job numbers, flange size and service type (correctly stamped)
(Admin & Tech).
• Communicate with various departments regarding job orders, inventory, ETA for job completion, etc.
• Be willing and able to perform tasks without direct supervision that may require physical labor, and possibly the
use of hand tools. This work may need to be performed both indoors and outdoors in inclement weather.
• Complete all other tasks as assigned, i.e. helping in shop and other departments during down time.
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
Admin Job Description/Expectations:
• Attend weekly Shop Administration Meetings.
• Update white board according to meeting notes.
• Print QA documents.
• Administer QA documents to QA technicians.
• Locate Job Board(s).
• Verify QA documents at equipment level.
• Enter data from QA documents into CORE.
• Update white board.
• Generate Shipping Manifest; communicate with shipping department and drivers.
• Review Shipping manifest and loaded equipment for accuracy.
• Take photos of loaded equipment.
• Upload equipment photos into CORE.
• Review the shipping manifest and equipment with the customer; obtain customer signature.
• Submit Job Board to Administration.
• Track inner department job progress to maintain ETAs for jobs
Maintain current log of custom QA requests by customer.
• Maintain department inventory.
• Ensure all Members of the QA Department are wearing proper PPE.
• Perform all other duties or tasks as assigned, based on FHE needs and at the supervisor(s) request.
Knowledge / Skills / Expertise:
• Compiling, checking and recording information.
• Communication proficiency, organizational skills, mathematical skills, thoroughness, time management.
• Read, write and communicate clearly in English
• Ability to carry out work or lead in absence of supervisor
• Good decision-making skills with ability to work under pressure.
Environmental Conditions and Work Environment:
• Exposure to certain contaminants, at times.
• Exposure to loud noise levels, at times.
• This position works in a warehouse setting, with outdoor exposure during the workday.
Tools and Equipment Used:
May be required to operate forklift to maneuverer parts at times, operate overhead crane, sanders, various welding
equipment and tools, grinders, generators, wrenches, common hand and power tools.
Physical Demands:
- • This position requires continual use of your hands, considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your
- whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, pushing, pulling, repetitive motions, coordination and dexterity,
- sitting, walking, stooping and handling materials.
- • The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50-75 pounds or more without physical restrictions.
- • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color and peripheral vision and
- depth perception.
- • Climbing on ladders, may be required at times.
- • Employee is regularly required to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- • The use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes/boots, gloves, hard hats, and hearing
- protection daily.
