About the Role

ZaphyrRecruit is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Tax Manager to lead business tax compliance, tax planning, and related accounting initiatives for our clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, reports, and filings in accordance with applicable tax laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and support business tax compliance and tax planning initiatives for a diverse client base.
  • Review, interpret, and correct client financial statements, balance sheets, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Analyze client financial data and identify tax planning opportunities, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide guidance on technical accounting and tax matters to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Review accounting records using QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting platforms.
  • Manage client workflows and deadlines while maintaining strong communication throughout the engagement.
  • Prepare and review business and individual tax returns with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Apply knowledge of individual, business entity, estate planning, wills, and trusts-related tax matters where applicable.
  • Stay current on changes to federal and state tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA license or equivalent professional certification preferred.
  • Five or more years of relevant experience preferred, with a background in public accounting or corporate accounting and a strong focus on tax.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP accounting standards.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software.
  • Demonstrated experience with individual taxation, business entities, estate planning, wills, and trusts-related tax matters.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to accurately interpret financial data.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage client workflows and explain complex tax and accounting matters clearly.
