Tax & Audit Accountant – CPA Firm
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Tax & Audit Accountant with broad, hands-on accounting experience. This role is ideal for a detail‐oriented professional who is comfortable working across multiple service areas, including tax preparation, audit support, and general accounting functions for business clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Individual & Business Tax Preparation — Prepare federal and state tax returns including 1040, 1120, 1120S, and 1065 filings.
- Year-End Closings — Perform year-end closing procedures for business clients, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- RPIE Preparation — Assist in preparing Real Property Income & Expense (RPIE) filings for applicable clients.
- Audit Engagement Support — Participate in audit engagements, including fieldwork, testing, documentation, and preparation of workpapers.
- General Accounting — Provide support across various accounting functions as needed.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Accounting preferred.
- 2+ Years of experience in Tax/Audit/Accounting.
- Broad accounting experience within a CPA firm or similar environment.
- Strong working knowledge of individual and business tax preparation.
- Experience with year-end closings and audit procedures.
- Familiarity with RPIE filings (or willingness to learn).
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with accounting and tax software.
Preferred Skills
- Experience preparing multi-entity returns.
- Exposure to audit fieldwork and documentation standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
