We are looking for a skilled, analytical, and coachable Auto Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of automotive systems and is adept at diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical issues. Crucially, we are seeking a professional who is a true team player—someone who is not only expert with a wrench but who works seamlessly with shop management, is responsive to directions, and maintains a positive, adaptable attitude in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections and utilize computerized diagnostic tools to pinpoint performance issues in engines, transmissions, brake systems, and electrical components.
  • Perform state-required vehicle safety and emissions inspections to ensure compliance with local regulations and maintain proper issuance of inspection stickers.
  • Perform high-quality repairs, preventative maintenance, and part replacements according to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Work closely with the shop manager to prioritize repair orders, adhere to established shop protocols, and adjust workflows as directed.
  • Clearly communicate with the manager regarding vehicle repair status, unforeseen mechanical findings, or any delays in the service timeline.
  • Engage in training opportunities to update technical skills and stay current with evolving automotive technology, including new diagnostic software and hybrid or electric systems.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed logs of all services performed, parts used, and diagnostic tests conducted.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in an auto repair shop or dealership environment.
  • Strong knowledge of complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle systems.
  • Familiarity with state vehicle inspection sticker protocols and compliance standards.
  • A proven ability to take direction well, work collaboratively under the guidance of shop leadership, and accept constructive feedback to improve performance.
  • Excellent analytical skills to identify and resolve vehicle malfunctions quickly and accurately.
  • A strong work ethic with the ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • High school diploma or GED required; ASE certification or vocational school training is highly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
