Medical Scheduler

Position Summary

Seeking an experienced Provider Coordinator / Healthcare Scheduler with strong Epic scheduling and direct infusion scheduling experience. This role supports a busy specialty clinic, coordinating complex provider and patient schedules while ensuring accurate, timely scheduling and excellent patient service.

Key Responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate infusion treatments, patient appointments, procedures, diagnostics, and provider visits.
• Manage complex provider calendars and scheduling workflows in Epic.
• Coordinate referrals, insurance verification, prior authorizations, and scheduling work queues.
• Provide telephone support, route messages, and resolve scheduling issues.
• Review and maintain patient records and obtain required outside documentation.
• Support multiple providers in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new staff.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality and compliance.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• 2–5 years of healthcare scheduling, patient access, provider coordination, or medical office experience.
• Direct infusion scheduling experience – REQUIRED.
• Strong Epic scheduling experience – REQUIRED.
• Experience coordinating provider schedules and patient appointments through an EMR/EHR.
• Strong communication, customer service, organization, and multitasking skills.

Preferred

• Oncology infusion scheduling experience.
• Previous experience with the healthcare organization.
• Provider Coordinator experience.
• Insurance verification/prior authorization experience.
• Referral and scheduling work queue experience.
• Experience supporting multiple providers in a specialty clinic.
