Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preliminary diagnosis of patients along with evaluating the patient’s condition on scene while maintaining communication with medical personnel at emergency treatment facilities.
  • Perform procedures to restore and stabilize heart rhythm on pulseless, non-breathing patients.
  • Attend to injuries or sudden illnesses by performing a variety of pre-hospital treatments (first aid, CPR, administering injections and oxygen etc.) may include surgical procedures.
  • Determine the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish first aid procedures
  • Initiates intravenous fluids to administer medication or drugs, or to replace fluids lacking in body.
  • Adhere to established medical protocols and procedures as well as legal guidelines and health and safety standard.
  • Completes patient care reports in accordance with documentation standards as required by company and regulating agencies.
  • Perform thorough patient assessments by monitoring vital signs, conducting physical examinations, and utilizing medical terminology accurately to inform treatment plans.
  • Manage airway techniques and administer medications via injection or other methods to stabilize patients during transport.
  • Operate emergency vehicles safely on city streets while navigating efficiently to reach incident sites promptly.
  • Coordinate incident command efforts during complex emergencies and communicate effectively with first responders and hospital staff for optimal patient care continuity.


Requirements:

  • 1-3 years experience as paramedic, or in related professions.
  • Active Colorado State Paramedic Card.
  • PALS, ACLS, and CPR certifications.
  • Completion of IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-5A FEMA courses.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and trauma care protocols.
  • Satisfactory driving record and ability operate emergency vehicle.
  • Ability to handle heavy lifting and perform physically demanding tasks.
