Position Summary
The Corporate Controller will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, monthly close activities, and internal controls. Reporting directly to the CFO, this individual will lead and develop the accounting team while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the organization's financial reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
- Lead all accounting operations and month-end close activities
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Oversee general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Provide coaching and professional development opportunities
- Build organizational depth and succession planning
- Foster a culture of accountability and collaboration
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Support audits and financial statement reviews
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Support reporting requirements related to private equity ownership
- Maintain accounting controls and reporting accuracy
Strategic Support
- Partner closely with the CFO on growth initiatives
- Assist with acquisition due diligence and integration efforts
- Help prepare the organization for future strategic transactions
Industry & Compliance Support
- Provide accounting leadership within a government contracting environment
- Understand the unique characteristics of government contracting, including long-term contracts, secure environments, confidentiality requirements, and customer expectations
- Maintain eligibility for a security clearance if required
- Support compliance with company, customer, and contractual requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA required
- 12+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience leading accounting teams in growing organizations
- Experience within government contracting, aerospace & defense, national security, or similarly regulated industries preferred
- Prior experience working in a private equity-backed company preferred
- Demonstrated success developing and mentoring accounting professionals
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience supporting M&A activity, due diligence, integrations, or transaction readiness initiatives preferred
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
