Financial Services Processor / Underwriter (Remote)
Work Arrangement: Fully Remote
Pay Rate: $15.62/hr + Weekly Pay + Medical Benefits
Contract: 6 Months | Excellent Potential for Extension or Permanent Hire
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Schedule & Training Requirements
Initial 2-Month Training Period:
- Must be available to start at 6:00 AM MST during training.
- Training requires daily attendance and consistent participation.
- Must be comfortable attending Zoom meetings and training with camera on.
- Candidates must be able to commit to the full initial training schedule without planned time off.
After Training:
- Candidates will be able to select a set schedule based on business needs.
- Must be available to work within the hours of 5:00 AM–6:00 PM MST, Monday–Friday.
About the Role
Our client is an accredited online university offering programs across a variety of industries. Their mission is to make quality higher education accessible while providing students with academic, financial, mental health, and career support.
They are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Services Processor to join their team.
This is a behind-the-scenes processing role. You will work with student files, financial aid documentation, and other information to determine financial aid eligibility and ensure funding is awarded and disbursed accurately.
This is NOT a student-facing/customer service position. The focus is on reviewing documents, processing files, performing calculations, following procedures, and meeting daily production goals.
Position Summary
The Financial Services Processor reports to the Financial Services Manager and is responsible for reviewing student financial aid documentation, determining eligibility, awarding appropriate funding, and ensuring financial aid is accurately processed.
The position will work with student documentation and systems to determine eligibility for Pell Grants, student loans, and other financial aid programs.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working with detailed information, following established procedures, completing repetitive processing work, meeting daily production goals, and researching information when additional clarification is needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Review and approve student documents according to established standard operating procedures.
- Review student financial aid files to determine accuracy, completeness, and eligibility.
- Award financial aid funding based on established policies and procedures.
- Review disbursement eligibility and ensure funding is processed accurately.
- Calculate excess funding to be disbursed to students.
- Calculate earned and unearned financial aid and initiate necessary refunds.
- Review student eligibility using the National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS).
- Review student eligibility using the Common Origination and Disbursement System (COD).
- Maintain working knowledge of Federal, State, and Institutional policies governing Title IV student aid programs.
- Research and resolve discrepancies by reviewing available resources, policies, procedures, and student documentation.
- Accurately enter and update information in applicable systems.
- Maintain accurate and complete student financial aid records and documentation.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Meet established daily processing and productivity goals, including processing approximately 21 files per day after training.
- Maintain accuracy while working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Adapt to changes in policies, procedures, and processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in the financial industry, such as:
- Mortgage or Loan Officer
- Underwriter
- Financial Aid
- Loan Processing
- Financial Services Processing
- Banking/Financial Services
- Similar document-processing roles
- Experience working with financial documents, files, applications, or eligibility requirements.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to dig deeper, ask the right questions, research information, and identify solutions.
- Strong process orientation and ability to consistently follow detailed procedures.
- Comfortable performing daily repetitive processing tasks while maintaining accuracy.
- Experience working independently and meeting daily deadlines and productivity goals.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately while processing a high volume of files.
- Ability to meet a daily production goal of approximately 21 files per day after training.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing documents and entering information.
- Basic math skills and ability to perform simple financial calculations.
- Self-disciplined and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Must have a reliable home office, reliable internet connection, and limited distractions.
- Comfortable participating in Zoom meetings and training with camera on.
- Adaptable and coachable, with a willingness to learn new processes and procedures.
- Able to handle changes to policies, procedures, and processes.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple files and competing priorities.
- Strong ability to follow written procedures and instructions.
- Interested in learning about Federal Financial Aid programs and regulations.
- Interest or previous experience working in an educational/financial aid environment is preferred.
- Must be able to make a full commitment to the initial two-month training period without time off or missed days.
Training Commitment – Important
The first two months include a structured training program. Candidates must be able to commit to daily attendance and participation throughout training.
The training schedule includes:
- 4 weeks of structured training
- 2 weeks of work/flexible
- 4 additional weeks of training
- Training begins at 6:00 AM MST
- Camera-on participation is required for Zoom training and meetings.

Pay Rate: $21–$24 per hour (+ $250 Bonus after 2 months)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, standard business hours (approx. 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Start Date: ASAP
Assignment Length: 3 Months
Work Type: 100% field-based (travel within the Denver market)

What You’ll Do
Execute daily merchandising activities across assigned retail locations following established “Look of Success” standards
Keep shelves fully stocked, rotated, and visually optimized to maximize product visibility and sales
Support key retail account initiatives and ensure compliance with distribution and display standards
Build and maintain both mandated and incremental in-store displays
Complete up to 15 store visits per day, following assigned routes and priorities
Accurately document store visits, execution metrics, and account insights using CRM and reporting tools
Identify opportunities to improve product placement, expand distribution, and elevate in-store execution
Maintain merchandising assets and collaborate with field sales teams to ensure consistent brand representation
What Success Looks Like
You’ll know you’re crushing it in this role by:
Consistently executing merchandising standards across all accounts
Reducing out-of-stock situations and keeping shelves full
Maintaining accurate, timely reporting and CRM updates
Increasing product visibility, display quality, and overall distribution
What You Bring
1+ year of merchandising, retail, field sales, or CPG experience (beverage or distributor experience strongly preferred)
Experience working with large-format retailers or natural channel retailers is a plus
Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured personal vehicle with a clean driving record
Willingness to travel up to ~30 miles within the Denver market for daily store visits
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and stay active throughout the day
Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work independently and manage a daily route
Bonus Points If You Have
Experience with tools like Slack, Repsly, or CRM platforms
Comfort working in fast-paced retail environments and coordinating with multiple store teams
Additional Requirements
Must be 18 years of age or older
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
