Ditch Witch of the Carolinas , an industry leader since 1974 in sales, service and customer support with a wide range industries and equipment for the directional drill market, construction, landscape and tree services industry.

The demand for our equipment and field service in the private and public utility services, construction and landscape industry is growing exponentially in the Carolinas .

We seeking a qualified field service tech for our Columbia, SC branch with skills, experience, desire and ambition to train to become a "HDD" Specialist Field Tech to service, trouble-shoot, diagnose and repair our full line of Ditch Witch directional drills, Hydrovac "Warlock" series trucks and line of American Augers in the field.

Position Summary

Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair & service our full line of equipment including directional drills, vac trucks, compact equipment, chippers and stump grinders; Work primarily in the field on customer job sites operating from a service truck.

Determine warranty or non-warranty status; Estimate parts and labor to complete the job; make recommendations for preventive maintenance, conduct safety inspections; operate, test and complete final check of work performed, accurately record time and materials, prepare quotes

Requirements Summary

* D.O.T., insurable based on 5-year driving record, a prerequisite of employment and during employment for this position

* CDL Class A preferred

* Must own your own tools

* Can troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of the component parts & systems on equipment

* Can work with limited supervision

* Can communicate in a professional and courteous manner with customers and co-workers , vendors, manufacturers.

* Experience as a field service tech for directional drills, truck vacs, or heavy equipment preferred, but will consider applicants with field service experience & expertise in other equipment or trucking industries.

* Dependable

* Available to travel within the Carolinas with an average of 2 to 3 overnight stays a week

Schedule

* Normal hours are 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday-Friday, however this position requires the flexibility to work overtime starting earlier or staying later and some overnight travel.
