- Experience in final inspection with machined defense or aerospace components

FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Final Inspector to support final and receiving inspection of machined aerospace and defense components. This temp-to-hire role is responsible for inspecting machined aircraft parts, frames, plates, painted components, processed parts, and structural aerospace components to ensure quality standards are met before release. The ideal candidate will have aerospace or defense machine shop inspection experience, strong blueprint reading skills, experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and related inspection tools, and the ability to work independently in a performance-oriented manufacturing environment.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Performing final inspection of machined aerospace and defense components
- Inspecting machined aircraft parts, frames, plates, and painted components
- Performing receiving and final inspection activities as needed
- Inspecting processed parts before and after painting, primer, topcoat, masking, or related finishing processes
- Reviewing parts to confirm proper masking, finish, and process requirements are met
- Inspecting aluminum parts, brackets, assemblies, frames, and structural aircraft components
- Using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and related hand inspection tools
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, process requirements, and quality documentation
- Performing visual inspection of machined and finished aerospace components
- Inspecting parts ranging from small components to larger aircraft frame-style parts
- Coordinating with quality and production teams to resolve inspection questions
- Identifying quality concerns, defects, nonconforming parts, or processing issues
- Documenting inspection results accurately
- Supporting final release of parts based on quality and inspection requirements
- Working independently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
- Taking feedback and applying corrections as needed
- Supporting optional Saturday work when job load allows
- Following all company quality, safety, and manufacturing procedures
- Performing other duties as assigned
The selected candidate will also possess:
- Experience in final inspection required
- Experience inspecting machined aerospace or defense components required
- Aerospace machine shop experience strongly preferred
- Defense manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience with receiving inspection preferred
- Experience with visual inspection required
- Experience using hand inspection tools required
- Caliper experience required
- Micrometer experience required
- Height gauge experience preferred
- Blueprint reading experience required
- Experience inspecting processed parts, painted components, primered parts, top-coated parts, or masked parts preferred
- Experience with machined frames, plates, aluminum parts, brackets, assemblies, or aircraft structural components preferred
- Experience working with parts for aerospace primes or aerospace suppliers preferred
- Ability to inspect parts for proper finish, masking, and processing requirements
- Ability to read and understand processing requirements and quality documentation
- CMM experience not required
- Strong attention to detail required
- Reliable attendance required
- Ability to work independently required
- Ability to take feedback and apply it appropriately
- Ability to work in a performance-oriented manufacturing environment
- Ability to work onsite in Long Beach, CA
- Ability to work Monday through Friday starting at 6:00 AM
- Ability to work optional Saturdays when job load allows
- Ability to complete required pre-employment background check, drug screen, and DSVT
- Ability to support a temp-to-hire opportunity
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the manufacturing and inspection areas for extended periods
- Ability to inspect machined aerospace parts, frames, plates, painted components, processed parts, and finished components throughout the shift
- Ability to use hands and fingers for calipers, micrometers, height gauges, inspection tools, documentation, computer entry, and standard quality inspection tasks
- Ability to review blueprints, inspection documentation, process requirements, quality records, part markings, and computer screens as needed
- Ability to visually inspect parts for defects, finish quality, masking, processing requirements, dimensions, and overall workmanship
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, pull, or move parts, tools, inspection equipment, materials, and standard manufacturing items as needed
- Ability to work around machined parts, painted components, aerospace manufacturing equipment, inspection tools, and shop floor activity
- Ability to wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures
- Ability to maintain accuracy, focus, and attention to detail in a manufacturing inspection environment
Salary Range: $23 to $27/hour
