Shop & Field Mechanic – Drilling Equipment
Location: Glendale, AZ | 14 Days On / 7 Days Off | Significant Overtime & Travel

A well-established global leader in drilling services, equipment, and technology is seeking experienced Shop & Field Mechanics to support its fleet of drill rigs and related support equipment.

This position is based out of a Glendale, Arizona facility and combines shop-based repairs and overhauls with travel to field locations. Field assignments typically operate on a 14-days-on, 7-days-off hitch schedule, with significant overtime opportunities.
The Position
As a Shop & Field Mechanic, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet of drill rigs and support equipment in both shop and field environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain drill rigs and related support equipment.
- Troubleshoot diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and high-pressure pneumatic systems.
- Diagnose hydraulic issues involving pumps, manifolds, cylinders, hoses, and related components.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and complete equipment overhauls.
- Respond to field breakdowns and perform efficient repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Perform basic welding and fabrication as required.
- Repair and maintain electric-powered and diesel-powered hydraulic equipment.
- Work closely with operators, supervisors, and safety personnel to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate service and repair documentation.
- Follow all company, MSHA, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for mechanically strong, dependable individuals who enjoy troubleshooting equipment, working independently, and solving problems in demanding environments.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of professional mechanic experience.
- Heavy equipment, diesel, drilling, mining, construction, or similar mechanical experience preferred.
- Experience reading electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Strong hydraulic troubleshooting and repair capabilities.
- Diesel engine and fuel system diagnostic experience.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a CDL.
- Ability to obtain required MSHA/OSHA certifications.
- Must have your own tools.
- Ability to successfully complete required background and drug screening.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding mechanical work.
- Ability to work 50+ hours per week, including scheduled overtime.
- Willingness to travel and work a 14-days-on / 7-days-off schedule, including long days and varying weather conditions.

- Electrical diagnostics or electrical certification
- Welding and fabrication
- Hydraulic pumps, manifolds, and cylinder repair
- High-pressure air systems
- Screw compressors and boosters
- Duplex and triplex mud pumps
- Drill rigs or mining equipment
- Field service and emergency breakdown repairs

Typical field rotation: 14 days on / 7 days off
Mechanics should be comfortable traveling to various jobsites, working extended hours during their hitch, and responding to equipment breakdowns in field environments.
