Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Services Associate to manage accounting functions for a diverse portfolio of CPA firm clients, including small businesses and HOA/property management accounts. This position is responsible for delivering accurate, timely accounting services while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned portfolio of CPA firm clients, including small businesses and HOA/property management accounts.
- Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting functions for multiple client entities.
- Prepare and process client payroll, including applicable payroll tax filings.
- Prepare year-end payroll and information reporting, including W-2s and 1099s.
- Ensure payroll activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Prepare and file monthly and quarterly indirect tax returns, including:
- Sales tax
- Gross receipts tax
- Lodging tax
- Restaurant tax
- Other applicable state and local tax filings
- Complete annual reports, business tax filings, and business license renewals.
- Process accounts payable accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts across multiple client entities.
- Prepare and post adjusting journal entries as needed.
- Manage HOA and property management financials using QuickBooks Online.
- Maintain accurate HOA books, track dues, and assist with monthly, quarterly, or as-needed client invoicing.
- Assist with HOA-specific financial reporting, budgeting, and year-end financials for boards and property managers.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and customized reports based on individual client needs.
- Stay current on changes to payroll regulations and federal, state, and local tax laws to maintain ongoing compliance.
- Manage multiple client priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and service.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a public accounting firm, CPA firm, or multi-client bookkeeping environment.
- Experience with HOA and/or property management accounting preferred.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and applicable tax compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple client accounts and competing deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
