POSITION SUMMARY

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting

operations, including accounts payable, cash and balance sheet reconciliations, general

ledger activity, and month-end close procedures.

The position will ensure transactions are recorded accurately and timely and that

supporting documentation is maintained in accordance with company policies and

accounting standards. The Staff Accountant will work closely with other departments to

ensure accounting issues are resolved timely and the month-end close is completed

accurately and efficiently.


PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Process vendor invoices, including accurate account and department coding and verification of appropriate approvals.
  • Prepare and process vendor payments in accordance with company procedures.
  • Perform cash and balance sheet account reconciliations, investigate outstanding items, and prepare supporting schedules for assigned accounts.
  • Review general ledger activity for accuracy, completeness, and unusual transactions.
  • Prepare and post routine and recurring journal entries.
  • Prepare month-end accruals, prepaid expense entries, reclassifications, and other adjusting journal entries.
  • Assist with month-end close activities and meet established close deadlines.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
  • 2–6 years of accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with accounts payable, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
  • Working knowledge of accrual accounting and month-end close procedures.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems, preferably Sage Intacct.
  • Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and month-end journal entries.
  • Experience with multi-entity accounting or intercompany transactions preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
