Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Painter to support aircraft painting and finishing operations in Peru, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have hands-on aircraft painting experience, strong knowledge of surface preparation and paint application, and the ability to work safely in an MRO/heavy maintenance environment.

Experience working on CRJ aircraft is highly preferred but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform aircraft surface preparation, including cleaning, sanding, stripping, and scuffing.
  • Perform masking and protect aircraft components and areas that should not be painted.
  • Mix and apply primers, base coats, and topcoats according to specifications.
  • Operate spray guns and other painting equipment effectively.
  • Follow proper paint mixing ratios and manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform painting activities in accordance with paint booth procedures and safety requirements.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for proper coverage, finish, color, and quality.
  • Perform touch-ups, corrections, and refinishing as required.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, paint schematics, and work instructions.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Follow all applicable aviation, safety, quality, and environmental procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of professional Aircraft Painter experience.
  • Hands-on experience with aircraft surface preparation, sanding, masking, priming, and topcoat application.
  • Experience working in an MRO or heavy maintenance environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of paint mixing ratios and spray gun operation.
  • Familiarity with aircraft paint booth procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and paint schematics.
  • CRJ aircraft experience is a plus.
  • Must have basic personal tools required for the position.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and overtime as required.

Preferred Experience

  • CRJ-200, CRJ-700, or CRJ-900 aircraft experience.
  • Regional jet or commercial aircraft painting experience.
  • Previous MRO, aircraft overhaul, or heavy maintenance experience.

Contract Details

Duration: 6 Months
Location: Peru, Indiana
Shift: 12-hour shifts, including days/nights and weekends as needed
