Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Restoration & Build Back Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for accurately scoping and estimating water mitigation and reconstruction (build back) projects, preparing detailed estimates using Xactimate, and working closely with project managers, adjusters, and clients to ensure projects are priced accurately and move efficiently from assessment to completion.

Classification: Exempt


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections and assessments of water-damaged properties to determine scope of mitigation and reconstruction work needed.
  • Prepare detailed, accurate estimates using Xactimate for both water mitigation and build back/reconstruction scopes.
  • Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and subcontractors to ensure estimates reflect actual site conditions and project requirements.
  • Communicate and negotiate scope and pricing with insurance adjusters as needed.
  • Review and reconcile estimates against completed work to ensure accuracy and profitability.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry pricing, codes, and restoration/construction best practices.
  • Provide clear, professional documentation including photos, sketches, and scope notes to support each estimate.
  • Communicate directly with clients to explain scope of work in a clear, professional manner.
  • Support the sales and project management teams by providing timely and accurate estimates to keep projects on schedule.
  • Take one week per month on call for 24/7 emergencies.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience in the water mitigation / restoration industry required.
  • (Optional) Hands-on experience with Xactimate estimating software required.
  • (Optional) Experience estimating reconstruction / build back scopes (framing, drywall, flooring, paint, trim, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of the insurance claims process as it relates to restoration and reconstruction.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits.
  • IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, etc.) a plus but not required.
