Food Manufacturing Shift Supervisor

Location: Womelsdorf, PA

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Shift Supervisor to join our food manufacturing team in Womelsdorf, PA. The Shift Supervisor will oversee daily production activities, lead and support production employees, and ensure that quality, productivity, food safety, and company standards are consistently maintained.

This is a hands-on leadership position in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has previous production or manufacturing leadership experience and is comfortable working directly with employees and production equipment.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate production employees during the assigned shift.
  • Ensure production schedules are followed and labor is managed efficiently.
  • Train, motivate, and hold employees accountable for performance and attendance.
  • Understand all positions on the production team and provide coverage when needed.
  • Monitor production from raw materials through finished products.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs, food safety requirements, and company policies.
  • Monitor finished-product quality and address quality issues promptly.
  • Inspect packaging and report equipment or production problems to Maintenance and Management.
  • Assist with troubleshooting production and equipment issues.
  • Coordinate the proper handling of rework and repackaging.
  • Ensure waste is removed throughout the shift and work areas remain clean and organized.
  • Lead employees during plant and equipment cleaning and sanitation activities.
  • Complete production reports, logs, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
  • Communicate effectively with management and other shifts to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Manage employee breaks and lunches while maintaining production.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Operations Manager, Plant Manager, or upper management.


Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing, production, or a similar industrial environment preferred.
  • Previous supervisory, lead, or team-lead experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of GMPs and food safety practices preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Ability to understand spreadsheets and basic formulas.
  • Basic knowledge of workplace safety and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


Physical & Work Environment

This is a hands-on manufacturing position. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, wet, oily, and noisy food-production environment and participating in cleaning and sanitation activities.
