Job Title: Field Service Technician – OAM Equipment Solutions
Position Overview
Join our team as a Field Service Technician, where you will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair industrial ink jet, vision, and paper-handling systems. This role is ideal for a self-starter who excels at technical problem-solving and delivers exceptional customer service. You will provide critical on-site and remote support to new and existing clients within your assigned territory. This position requires regular regional travel with additional compensation for overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities
- Technical Service & Repair: Perform on-site and remote diagnosis, troubleshooting, configuration, and mechanical/electrical repairs on industrial print and mail automation equipment.
- Installation & Training: Set up new systems at customer locations and train operators on proper equipment operation and routine maintenance.
- Inventory & Asset Management: Manage assigned parts inventory, coordinate supply chain needs with headquarters, and identify replacement parts accurately.
- Documentation: Complete service tickets, document parts used and labor hours, and secure customer sign-offs upon job completion.
- Travel Coordination: Efficiently arrange personal field travel, manage overnight accommodations, and submit expense reports on time.
- Collaboration & Culture: Partner with Sales Executives, field peers, and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) while championing a positive, collaborative company culture.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: 3–5 years of field engineering or electro-mechanical repair experience, ideally focusing on printing equipment, presses, automated transport systems, or paper-flow mechanics.
- Technical Diagnostic Skills: Strong ability to troubleshoot root causes of mechanical and electrical failures to minimize customer downtime.
- Digital Literacy: Proficiency using smartphones, tablets, computers, and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Basic knowledge of AI and ability to increase comprehension as demands increase. Knowledge of relational databases is a plus.
- Communication: Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills for direct interactions with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Learning Agility: Willingness and ability to lean and grow as equipment configurations change, new equipment lines are added, diverse and technical products are incorporated into business offerings.
- Mobility: A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
- Physical Ability: Capability to stand and sit for extended periods, lift 10 lbs frequently, and occasionally move up to 50 lbs.
Schedule and Travel Expectations
- Travel Frequency: Up to 60% regional travel, mostly involving overnight stays.
- Typical Shift: Technicians generally travel Tuesday through Thursday, with in-office or remote work on Mondays and Fridays. No weekend travel is required.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work irregular hours outside standard daytime shifts to meet tight customer deadlines when necessary.
