We are hiring an experienced Journeyman Plumber to join an established home services company serving DeKalb and the surrounding Northern Illinois communities.


This position offers a base salary of $80,000–$105,000 annually, plus performance bonuses. Your compensation will depend on your plumbing experience, licensing, technical abilities, and overall performance.


You will diagnose plumbing problems, complete repairs and installations, and help residential and light commercial customers protect their properties. You will receive the support, equipment, training, and customer opportunities needed to perform high-quality work and continue growing your career.

What You’ll Do


  • Diagnose, repair, install, and maintain plumbing systems
  • Complete plumbing work in residential and light commercial properties
  • Troubleshoot water supply, drainage, sewer, fixture, and piping issues
  • Repair and replace faucets, toilets, water heaters, garbage disposals, pumps, valves, and related equipment
  • Install and replace piping, fixtures, appliances, and plumbing components
  • Perform drain and sewer repairs when needed
  • Inspect plumbing systems and clearly explain findings to customers
  • Present appropriate repair and replacement options
  • Provide accurate estimates and obtain customer approval before beginning work
  • Read blueprints, technical drawings, specifications, and work orders
  • Follow applicable plumbing codes, permitting requirements, and safety standards
  • Test completed work to ensure proper and safe operation
  • Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, equipment, and completed services
  • Keep assigned tools, equipment, and work vehicles organized
  • Coordinate with dispatchers, office employees, technicians, and leadership
  • Deliver professional and respectful service in every customer’s home or business
  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and customer-service training


What We’re Looking For


  • Valid Journeyman Plumber license or applicable plumbing credential
  • Professional plumbing service, repair, and installation experience
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, codes, and safety requirements
  • Ability to independently diagnose plumbing problems and recommend effective solutions
  • Experience reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications
  • Comfortable explaining repair and replacement options to customers
  • Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
  • Professional communication and customer-service skills
  • Ability to manage appointments and complete accurate documentation
  • Comfortable using mobile devices, field-service software, or CRM systems
  • Ability to safely lift equipment and work in attics, crawl spaces, and confined areas
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Availability for occasional after-hours or on-call assignments when required
