Accounts Payable Clerk

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for performing a range of accounting and clerical tasks related to the accounts payable function. Includes receiving, processing, and verifying invoices, tracking and recording purchase orders, and processing payments. Achieve a comprehensive understanding of all facets involved in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and the Finance Department overall.

%CF; Process all inventory invoices with purchase orders and all non-inventory invoices to proper GL accounts

%CF; Respond to all vendor requests and inquiries; researching and resolving invoice discrepancies, tracking credit memos and apply to necessary invoices.

%CF; Ensure accurate and timely month-end close process, including performing reconciliation of AP and inventory accounts and preparing relevant month-end journal entries and reconciliations

%CF; Assist with internal/ external financial reporting requirements and perform ad hoc projects as needed

%CF; Play a key role in helping to streamline and continuously improve processes and internal controls and maintain organized records. Set Up Vendor Performance Tracking System with Compliance Chargebacks accordingly.

%CF; Monthly credit card reconciliation and payments

%CF; Obtain cash discounts from Vendors

%CF; Process Monthly Commissions for Sales

%CF; Complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

%CF; Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.

%CF; Report sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.

%CF; Process Corporate Tax Payments for Federal and State(s)

%CF; Process Internal Employee Expenses

%CF; Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

Requirements:

%CF; Minimum of four years of experience (preferably in Distribution, E-commerce or Retail environment)

%CF; Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial controls

%CF; Comfortable using standard and proprietary finance and inventory software platforms. (Netsuite knowledge a plus)

%CF; Organized and efficient in completing daily tasks

%CF; Ability to work well individually as well as part of a team

%CF; Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

%CF; The highest level of personal ethics and professional integrity
