Commissioning Engineer - Semiconductor Construction

PPG Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support a major semiconductor construction project in Chandler, Arizona.

We are seeking someone with a strong background in process and mechanical commissioning who is comfortable working directly in the field, coordinating with construction teams, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and operations personnel to move complex systems through testing, startup, operational readiness, and turnover.

Responsibilities

• Support commissioning and startup of mechanical and process systems
• Perform field walkdowns and verify system readiness
• Review P&IDs, drawings, specifications, testing documentation, and equipment information
• Identify construction deficiencies and drive corrective actions through completion
• Coordinate with engineering, subcontractors, vendors, project leadership, and operations teams
• Support pre-functional and functional testing activities
• Troubleshoot mechanical, process, controls, and system-performance issues
• Track commissioning progress, deficiencies, punch-list items, and system turnover
• Support documentation, testing records, startup, closeout, and operational readiness
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, schedule, and field execution

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commissioning experience preferred
• Strong experience with process and/or mechanical systems
• Semiconductor commissioning experience is highly preferred
• Candidates from industrial gas, oil & gas, manufacturing, factory, mission-critical, or other complex industrial environments will also be considered
• Experience with P&IDs and technical drawings
• Strong field troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
• Experience coordinating contractors, vendors, engineers, and project teams
• Mechanical, electrical, controls, process-gas, or related systems experience is highly desirable
• Ability to work full-time on-site in Chandler, Arizona

Ideal Background

The strongest candidates will have experience taking complex systems from installation through testing, startup, commissioning, and final turnover. Experience with semiconductor manufacturing facilities, high-purity process systems, industrial gases, mechanical systems, controls, or similar technically demanding environments is especially valuable.

This is an immediate, on-site opportunity supporting a large semiconductor construction program in Chandler.
