Injection Process Technician
Job Description
The Injection Molding Technician supports the technical process activities of the production plant, including injection molding, plastics decorating, and automated/manual plastics assembly processes. This position supports the team in implementing efficiency and scrap improvements, ensuring quality control, and collaborating with cross-functional departments.
Other responsibilities include supporting continuous improvement initiatives and automation activities. The selected candidate will have a proven ability to participate in technical activities and drive those activities through to production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
%CF; Write, modify, and debug robot programs for injection molding machinery, and write and modify injection molding machine programs.
%CF; Troubleshoot molding technical issues related to the injection molding process.
%CF; Identify opportunities for process improvements through automation and support enhancements to increase productivity and quality.
%CF; Analyze production data and performance metrics to optimize manufacturing processes.
%CF; Provide recommendations to design, production, and quality control teams to ensure KPIs are met, and support the launch of new molds and automation projects.
%CF; Complete required EHS training and follow all EHS-related policies and procedures, including incident investigations, auditing, and assessments.
%CF; Stay updated with the latest machine and robot software, and propose innovative solutions to enhance manufacturing processes.
%CF; Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure processes meet quality standards and specifications, and support quality checks and measures.
%CF; Support and assure daily production goals are met, and lead mold and material changeovers.
%CF; Prioritize the production of quality products, ensuring customer standards are met, and maintain workplace cleanliness and a positive environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
%CF; High School Diploma or GED.
%CF; 5 or more years of hands-on experience in plastics injection molding, including direct-to-injection molding automation, with a proven track record of process troubleshooting and teamwork.
%CF; Strong knowledge of injection molding processes, molding automation, and materials.
%CF; Familiarity with safety regulations and quality standards in the automotive industry and manufacturing in general.
%CF; Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
%CF; Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8-10 hours per shift) and lift up to 30-50 lbs. in a manufacturing floor environment.
