Field Service Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Field Service Technician to support the maintenance and repair of solar energy systems across multiple project sites. This position involves troubleshooting, equipment testing, preventative maintenance, and documenting service activities while working both independently and as part of a small team.
Key Responsibilities- Service and maintain solar energy equipment at multiple project locations.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and replace solar panel components and related equipment.
- Utilize testing equipment and computer-based monitoring systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.
- Complete accurate service reports and documentation for all work performed.
- Work safely in outdoor environments, including elevated and hard-to-access work areas.
- Travel to multiple job sites, potentially visiting 2-3 locations per week.
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry standards.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a company vehicle.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience working in a mechanical and/or electrical environment through previous employment or formal training.
- Understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and workplace safety practices.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to occasionally work weekends when critical issues arise.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment of up to three technicians.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly.
Day Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
