Kelly is seeking an experienced Millwright Technician for a direct hire opportunity with a leading industrial manufacturing facility in Florence, KY. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled trades professional looking for a stable, long-term career where you'll build, repair, and fabricate custom parts for specialized extrusion equipment.

Compensation & SchedulePay: Up to $36.00/hour, based on experience
Shift: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Overtime available
On-call rotation (minimum 4 hours of pay whenever called in, even for minor repairs)

This position is ideal for an experienced millwright who enjoys machining, fabrication, and solving complex mechanical problems. You'll manufacture custom replacement parts for specialized extrusion equipment, rebuild machinery, and support equipment reliability throughout the plant.
Unlike many maintenance positions, you'll have the opportunity to establish and organize your own machine shop, giving you the flexibility to create an efficient workspace and take ownership of your daily operations.
ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and mechanical schematics.
Fabricate precision machine components using manual milling machines and manual lathes.
Install, align, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild industrial manufacturing equipment.
Machine, weld, braze, grind, broach, and fabricate custom replacement parts.
Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and height gauges.
Troubleshoot mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, shafts, bearings, and gearboxes.
Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and equipment rebuilds.
Collaborate with maintenance teammates and outside vendors on equipment repairs and installation projects.
Assist with machine moves, installations, and equipment upgrades.
Minimum 5 years of millwright experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Must be proficient operating both a manual mill and a manual lathe.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Experience fabricating precision parts from blueprints and engineering drawings.
Experience with welding and metal fabrication.
Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, precision alignment, bearings, shafts, and other industrial mechanical systems.
Ability to verify part dimensions using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments.
Experience with CMMS software and basic computer skills preferred.
